As a student at UC Berkeley, Chris Wampler developed a simple automated chat personality that quickly passed the Turing Test. After working with a leading live chat provider, Wampler realized the value of his automated chat technology and partnered with serial entrepreneur, Tom Kogler, to launch UpSellit in 2005. Dubbed SmartAgent®, the proprietary automated chat technology was used to upsell customers and engage abandoning site visitors.
Over the next seven years, UpSellit focused its attention on reducing site abandonment and subsequently launched email, mobile and survey solutions all designed to increase revenue on a pay-for-performance business model. With a client-list over 300 partners long, UpSellit proves its value with a wide range of industries on a daily basis.
